YOUR BODY, NOT YOUR CHOICE
Posted by Charlotte on March 25, 2010
Every now and then I read or head a bit of the news in the morning that sets me up to have a rage filled day, today that bit of news is the fact that the new pharmacy code continues to allow pharmacists to opt out of providing female customers with medication they request – namely the morning after pill and contraception.
So I’m looking forward to rising teen pregnancy and STI transmission as young women are slut shamed by pharmacists who think their world view is the definitive one.
Spurred on by this anger I will be happy to name and shame any pharmacists that turn you away on your request of contraception or the morning after pill — especially those pharmacists inside supermarkets or chain branches of Boots etc. Or if you know someone already doing this online, let us know and we’ll send everyone that way.
And don’t forget to write a letter of complaint to the HQ of any pharmacy which denies you your sexual safety and freedom!
IMPORTANTLY don’t forget you can get these important protections from local family planning and sexual health clinics.
