Last night I had made my way to the Wotever Shorts screening at the BFI in London, part of the Lesbian and Gay Film Festival — it was of course magnificent.
Okay, so there were some things I didn’t need to have etched onto my gentle mind forever, thanks Galactic Docking Company, but there was so much that was hilarious, touching and terrifying and all in the best ways possible. The John Water inspired Getting Off was a slap dash hoot, the Lovely and Slim music video was adorable and Tools for Fools was a slick short about discount dildo’s among many other reclaimed sex aids.
You have until the 31st to get down there and take in some of the films left on the reel including an Unskinny Bop screening of Hairspray (the REAL one); Sex My Life, a docudrama about six trans women and a trans man in Tehran and the award-winning I Killed My Mother. And tickets are selling fast!
