Home Jane, the professional handywomen, have a series of DIY workshops for those women who have yet to get to grips with basic electrics, plumbing and hammering things into other things.

Dates: 27th March; 8th May; 19th June; 31st July

The class covers the basics including: What you need in your tool kit; How to select tools and what to buy; Costs – what to spend (and what not to spend); Basic construction of your home – what’s behind the walls and what you need to know before you start a project; Measuring & cutting; Identifying the right tool for the job; Identifying the right method for the job; How to hang things on walls; Decorating, Plumbing and Electrics.

Contact workshops@home-jane.co.uk for more information and to reserve a place.

The classes are currently only available in London but Home Jane seem to be spreading to the north of England with Jane’s popping up all over Manchester. If you’re a skilled tradeswoman speak to Home Jane about joining them, and if you’re still an unskilled tradeswoman you can call Home Jane for help.
